7ly Design Studio Call to Artists for... ‘The Mermaid Show!’
Local Studio and Showing space 7ly Design Studio, in the District of Rock Island is hosting The Mermaid show.
This is an open call to all artists of all medium types.
Theme: The Mermaid Show is a Literal and conceptually based event. Conceptually, The Mermaid Show is a connection to childhood and the expressions of the fantastical, folklore, Animation, and fashion.
7ly will be hosting face and body painting on Live Models. Literally, we will body painting patrons and live models during both events. Please submit works that relate to these themes. 7ly also has projection and sound capabilities.
(Special effects and body art Artists are highly encouraged To submit as well.)
Friday, July 23 is Kids Night, 5pm- 9pm.
Saturday, July 24, is 18 and over; 6pm- 11pm.
All media types and installations will be considered. Works selected by the Directors and 7ly staff will be based on compatibility with the overall theme. Sales are possible and will be handled by 7ly. Visitors and buyers of all artwork will be recorded and filed. Each piece must include appropriate means for display, including hangers or special props (but I am handy and have wood shop... )
Title cards will be provided... with info you give us...
Deadline: July 20th. Submissions must be delivered on or before July 20th, 2010, It's coming up fast...

v Digital media of up to 5 completed works; including detail shots if
necessary. [Images must be JPG or TIFF format. Sound files in MP3
format. Video must be AVI, MPEG4, or any other Quicktime compatible
format.]
v An Artist statement, a statement about the works submitted and contact
information. [Submissions may be kept and filed for consideration for
future events... So if you have a show idea... let us know...]

Submissions may be dropped off in person to the Sevenly Staff. Artists will be notified before or by the 21st of acceptance, artwork must be dropped off for installation by the 22th of July. Pick up of work is up to you, as long as we are here... and Its before Aug 10th. Because Aug - Sept. is the Green Show... Events are: The Yard Sale Art Sales, and The Living Lands and Waters Barge Party Art Auction... Hey and Let us know if you would like to show during these events!
